LESS Local Food Directory
EatLocal is a project to promote locally sourced ingredients in the Lancaster district. Food and drink ingredients should be grown in, or close to, Lancaster district, and by sustainable farming methods.

The EatLocal project is being delivered by 'Local & Effective Sustainable Solutions' (for LESS website click here) - a voluntary organisation that exists as an independent source of advice on how to live more sustainably. LESS received grant funding in 2007 to research local food businesses in order to compile a local food directory. This work was completed in March 2008, and the current EatLocal project is building on this work. With additional research, we are now starting to publish details of food and drink outlets in the Lancaster District on the EatLocal website.

The current focus of EatLocal is to enable people in the Lancaster district to find retail outlets where they can buy local produce. We are starting by listing pubs and restaurants that serve food using local ingredients, and/or beer from nearby breweries.
